Daytime Temperatures

Here’s where April really shines. As you start your journey from Lukla at 2,860 m, daytime temperatures hover between 10°C (50°F) and 15°C (59°F). warm enough to trek in a light base layer and feel genuinely comfortable. It’s almost like a pleasant autumn day back home.

As you climb higher through Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) and Tengboche (3,867 m), the thermometer starts to dip but still stays reasonable. By the time you reach the higher camps at Gorak Shep (5,160 m), daytime temperatures at EBC in April average around 2°C to 8°C (35.6°F to 46.4°F).

That’s cold, but with the right layers and the brilliant April sunshine beating down, it’s very manageable.
